Nurse Workflow Steps

Access Patient Data

Log into OmniKart and access the patient’s electronic prescription record (EPR) at the bedside.

Verify & Queue

Verify the medication order and remotely queue the required ones to the Omnicell ADC.

Retrieve from ADC

Access the queued medications from the ADC and load them into the dedicated patient drawer on OmniKart.

Scan & Access

Return to the bedside and scan the patient’s wristband. The corresponding drawer opens automatically.

Administer & Document

Remove the medication, administer it, and document the action on the patient’s EPR via OmniKart.

Secure Storage & Return

Ensure items remain in locked drawers until administered. Return unused items from OmniKart to the ADC at the end of a work shift.
